You bring the olives and we’ll press them into beautiful olive oil for you to enjoy at home. Drop off location and date to be advised, but will be in the Northern Illawarra (Scarborough), on a Saturday in March 2026. To register your interest please email us at admin@coalcoastolives.com.au.

Coal Coast Olives is seeking expressions of interest from backyard growers, urban foragers and scrumpers who want to turn locally grown olives into oil.

The Illawarra is full of olive trees and they are often left unharvested. The idea is to encourage people to pick these olives and have them turned into olive oil using our small scale oliomio extraction machine.

Your olives will be combined with the community harvest and pressed by Coal Coast Olives. No minimum quantity and no fees for processing.

You will receive about 750mL of oil for every 10kg of fruit you harvest depending on the yield. Coal Coast Olives will retain a small percentage of the total harvest to make it worth our while and share with the wider community.

Keep an eye out in your local parks, gardens and street verges. Keep in mind that trees planted on the nature strip may be well-loved and cared for by nearby residents and perhaps you should ask before you pick the fruit!

Drop off location and date to be advised, but will be in Scarborough in the Northern Illawarra, on a Saturday in March 2026. Olives should be picked no earlier than 24h prior to maintain quality of the oil and be free of any disease, leaves or other debris.
