Fermentation kits for making your own olives and sauerkraut at home
Our kits come in two different sizes (5L and 2.2L) and each kit comes with the food grade polypropylene (BPA free) pail / bucket fermenter, a mesh / grate insert, a secure lid with a hole and fitted grommet and airlock.
The kits are designed for preserving olives in brine but can also be used for making fermented vegetables such as sauerkraut and pickles.
They can be cleaned and sterilised and reused year after year.
The grate helps keep the olives and vegetables submerged under brine and stops them floating to the top and be exposed to air where they might spoil and rot rather than ferment.
The airlock allows fermentation gases to escape while keeping air and contaminants out.
